Abnormal uterine bleeding and iron deficiency (anaemia) - invitation to the interactive webinar of 8 June 2021

GYN & PERINATAL ZURICH > Abnormal uterine bleeding and iron deficiency (-anemia) - invitation to the interactive webinar on June 8, 2021

Invitation to the interactive webinar: Tuesday, 8 June 2021 (17h30 to 18h00)

Up to one third of women of reproductive age suffer from abnormal uterine bleeding (AUB)*. Heavy blood loss, e.g. due to menstruation, can lead to a depletion of iron stores, resulting in iron deficiency and iron deficiency anaemia.

Iron deficiency (anaemia) can significantly impair quality of life and lead to reduced performance. In addition, preoperative iron deficiency can lead to serious complications after surgery, regardless of the presence of anaemia.

The management of women with abnormal uterine bleeding and associated iron deficiency/anaemia requires dual therapy: interventions that target the cause of the menorrhagia and treatment to correct the iron deficiency/anaemia. This webinar will discuss the possible interventions and give advice on iron supplementation/therapy.
