Ultrasound and 4D imaging: Prof. Dr. Breymann is an expert in imaging examinations

GYN & PERINATAL ZURICH > Ultrasound and 4D imaging: Prof. Dr. Breymann is an expert in imaging studies

Prof. Dr. Breymann is also very familiar with imaging examinations during pregnancy - he has been involved in the development of sonography over the last twenty years, thus experiencing all stages of development. At the University Hospital Zurich he was in charge of the special ultrasound consultation for a long time, and in his own practice and the associated institute "Perinatal Zurich", ultrasound examinations are also carried out and documented according to the guidelines of the Swiss and German Society for Ultrasound in Medicine.

The advantage is not only that all findings are stored on the electronic maternity record. It is fascinating for expectant mothers to experience 3D and 4D representations of the child. These images can be generated at any time if the child is in a good position. Here, too, Prof. Dr. Breymann has outstanding expertise: he is the scientific advisor of "3D Medical Printing AG" and - as with the topic of iron deficiency in women - an absolute pioneer in medical 3D printing. Together with the company, he developed the technology for 3D printing during pregnancy.

Ultrasound examinations accompany pregnancy anyway - imaging in the first and second trimester is particularly important to be able to rule out genetic changes or malformations. Not only are heart defects detected early, but also the brain and all organs are examined in detail. Weight is also determined and the blood flow to the child and the placenta are checked.
