Ultrasound via smartphone
During an ultrasound examination, high-frequency sound waves are sent through the body, which are reflected by tissues and organs as echoes. The sound wave power of ultrasound devices used in obstetrics is so low that it does not cause any short or long-term damage to the mother or the unborn child.
Digitalization is continuously driving innovation, particularly in the field of ultrasound technology for smartphones. With a special attachment and a little gel, ultrasound images of the unborn child can now be taken from the comfort of your own home.
The device not only serves as a baby cam for expectant parents, but also provides valuable support for gynecologists, as Prof. Breymann explains in the video.
